TenPoint is an American company that has been manufacturing and selling crossbows for over 27 years. All of the manufacturing and engineering takes place in Mogadore, Ohio, in the United States.

The ACU Slide System is unique to TenPoint Crossbows. To practice target points, you won’t need to manually pull back the crossbows or bring an extra arrow with you. Each crossbow has its own distinguishing characteristics that set it apart from the others. They do, however, share many of the same basic features, making switching to a new TenPoint model simple if you’re ready to upgrade. Their crossbows have a consistent look and feel.

Ten Point is almost exclusively known for high-end crossbows, so expect to pay $1,000 or more for a high-quality weapon made by them.

When buying a ten-point crossbow, there are a few things to keep in mind.

When looking to purchase a crossbow, there are several factors to consider. Always make sure you’re safe when using a crossbow if you’re new to it.

Before you go hunting for the first time, make sure you have the proper training and feel comfortable with it.

When it comes to crossbows, the following are the most important factors to consider:

Budget

When it comes to purchasing a crossbow, one of the most important considerations is the budget. You’ll want to make sure you’re getting a good crossbow at a reasonable price. Crossbows with higher prices may be lighter, have better scopes, or have more safety features.

The cheapest crossbows will usually cost between $300 and $500. They’re best for kids or beginners. Anything under $300 is likely to be of poor quality and lacking in safety features.

A crossbow priced between $500 and $1,000 will come with extra features that make shooting easier. Because it is such a large investment, make sure you try it on in person first to ensure a good fit.

There are also a number of models that cost $1000 or more. If you’re a seasoned bowhunter who knows you’ll be using your crossbow exclusively during hunting season, you might want to invest in a higher-priced crossbow.

The high-end crossbows will have upgraded optics and bolts, resulting in significantly improved performance. If you want to protect your expensive investment, make sure you get a warranty for these crossbows.

Legality / State Regulations

In most states, crossbows are legal for hunting, but you should always check your local regulations before purchasing or using anything. Some states only allow disabled hunters to use bows, while others allow bows to be used during gun season.

Bows are also only allowed to be used on private land in some states, while they are prohibited on public land. Always double-check that what you’re doing is legal, as you don’t want to be fined or have your hunting license revoked.

While owning and using a crossbow may be legal in your state, some aspects of your bow may be prohibited. Electronic sights are illegal in some states, making that red dot a game violation. If you’re purchasing a crossbow package, make sure that every component is legal. Simpler crossbows could be a good place to start, saving you money on crossbow packages you won’t use.

Overall Dimensions and Weight

Size and weight are extremely important, particularly if you are young or smaller than average. You should always be able to handle and maneuver the crossbow comfortably. Having a crossbow that isn’t the right size and weight for you can be dangerous and make shooting more difficult.

Try to buy your crossbow in person or ask if you can try it out in the store to make sure it fits you properly. An experienced hunter or salesperson should be able to tell you whether or not it will work for you.

People should use the following draw weights:

Seniors: Under 160 lbs.

Hunters with a lot of experience: there are more than 160 of them.

160-200 for females and new hunters

Youth: Less than 160

Speed

For several reasons, speed is critical. The faster it travels, the deeper it will penetrate the target. The faster it goes, the better it will be able to target the game and have a longer range.

Keep in mind that the crossbow’s stock arrows aren’t always the fastest option. Purchasing more lightweight arrows will allow you to travel faster. Heavier speeds will result in slower speeds, but they will penetrate deeper into the target.

The speed is largely determined by your level of experience and personal preferences. You can also experiment with different arrows to see which produce the most speed and which work best for you.

What do ten point crossbows have in common?

The crossbow prices at Ten Point are reasonable. The following are some of the features you can expect:

TenPoint’s ACUdraw technology is a built-in cocking mechanism that is extremely small and light (less than 1 pound). As with regular attachable crank cocking aids, there are no large protruding parts. It’s that simple to draw a Ten Point crossbow with just one finger.

Stocks of exceptional quality, with the best design and ergonomic grip you’ll ever hold.

They have a top speed of 300 FPS and more.

They’re not particularly heavy.

All of them are compound crossbows.

They come with multi-reticle scopes of excellent quality.

Velocity is always measured with 20′′ bolts (which are included in each package).

Accessories for the Ten Point Crossbow

The items listed below are some of the most popular crossbow accessories available from Ten Point.

Case for a Ten Point Crossbow

Ten Point has a number of excellent cases, including the following:

Both recurve and compound crossbows can be carried in the Deluxe Soft Carry Case. A padded shoulder sling is included. With double stitches and a thick lining, this bag is extremely durable. Will shield your crossbow from nearly everything. It will also fit all of your accessories.

The Case of the Take-Down Crossbow Once the prod has been removed from the stock, it will only fit a crossbow. It has the shape of a standard handbag and can be used to transport a crossbow through an airport. There’s a shoulder strap included, as well as compartments for any crossbow accessories.

Read our Ten Point crossbow reviews before purchasing a case. Some packages include a case as part of the price, and you don’t want to end up with two cases by mistake.

Bolts / Arrows for Ten Point Crossbows

Almost all TenPoint crossbows come with 20′′ bolts (carbon or aluminum), as well as field points. This size was used to calculate the Feet-Per-Second velocity for each model; however, keep in mind that the size and weight of the arrows used will affect velocity and accuracy over longer distances.

Warranty

TenPoint’s products come with the following warranty:

The crossbow comes with a lifetime warranty (stock, prod, cams, foot stirrup) The ACUdraw cocking mechanism comes with a five-year warranty. Check out our Ten Point Crossbow Reviews for more information, as some models come with one or two check-up and maintenance certificates.

What is the most accurate TenPoint crossbow?

Nitro 505 XERO, Nitro 505 Oracle X, and Nitro 505 XERO XERO XERO XERO XERO XERO XERO X

The Nitro 505 has a perfectly balanced reverse-draw platform that measures 6.5 inches wide and shoots in excess of 505 feet per second. It’s also a decocking crossbow, thanks to the ACUslide cocking and de-cocking system, which most dealers recommend.

The Garmin Xero® X1i Rangefinding Scope, Burris Oracle X Rangefinding Scope, or EVO-X Marksman Elite Scope come standard on the Nitro 505.

Gap shooting is a thing of the past! Built-in laser range finders on the 3.5x Garmin Xero® X1i and 2.5-7x Burris Oracle X generate a single, precise illuminated aim point that is automatically adjusted for both distance and angle, allowing you to see your target without being obstructed by the reticle pattern, resulting in greater accuracy and more ethical shots.

The EVO-X Marksman Elite Scope or the Garmin Xero® X1i Rangefinding Scope are both available for the Havoc RS440.

What’s new in the world of TenPoint crossbows?

TenPoint Crossbow Technologies had a great year in 2021, and it appears that 2022 will be even better. The flagship crossbow from TenPoint, the 2022, has surpassed 500 fps and is now the fastest production crossbow ever made.

With a 400-grain arrow, the new TenPoint Nitro 505 will hit speeds of up to 505 feet per second. The new TenPoint Titan De-Cock adds a de-cocking feature to TenPoint’s most popular crossbow ever, allowing users to safely de-cock the Titan with the ACUdraw De-Cock System.

Another venerable TenPoint model is getting a makeover. The new Turbo S1 is the most affordable TenPoint with ACUslide.

Nitro 505 Crossbow by TenPoint

400 feet per second (fps) seemed to be an insurmountable speed barrier for crossbows not long ago. With the new Nitro 505 Crossbow, TenPoint has shattered the 500 fps barrier. The reverse-draw Nitro 505 measures an ultra-compact 6.5″ wide and 30.7″ long and is currently the industry’s fastest crossbow at 505 fps.

With over 25,000 shots built into the design, according to TenPoint CEO Rick Bednar, the Nitro 505 is the most tested crossbow they’ve ever built. TenPoint’s ACUslide system is included in the Nitro, allowing users to silently cock the crossbow without fear of their hand slipping off the handle.

The ACUslide’s brake system prevents the crossbow crank from unwinding, whether you’re cocking or uncocking.

TenPoint’s Evo-X Marksman Elite Variable Speed Scope, Burris Oracle X Rangefinding Scope, or Garmin XERO X1i Rangefinding Scope will be available with the Nitro 505. The TenPoint Nitro 505 Crossbow is available in Moss Green with a black TenPoint Scope starting at $2999.

Is Wicked Ridge made by TenPoint?

The Wicked Ridge Fury 410 De-Cock, Raider 400-De-Cock, and Blackhawk 360 are three hunting crossbow models offered by TenPoint Crossbows Technologies under the American-made Wicked Ridge brand that is destined to be among the best affordable hunting crossbows.

Which crossbow is the fastest on the market?

TenPoint Nitro 505

It’s the world’s fastest crossbow, capable of launching bolts at a speed of 505 feet per second! The new Nitro 505 from TenPoint is the world’s fastest production crossbow. The 505 has a long, 17-inch power stroke and an ACUslide cocking device that is second to none in terms of ease of use and safety, thanks to Reverse Draw Technology and RX-8 Cams.

Shooting the fastest crossbow gives me a bigger advantage than I ever imagined. Because the TenPoint Nitro 505 is so fast, the arrow flew right through the deer before it could react. It was as if I were firing lightning bolts.

There is no other crossbow built to this level of speed and durability, based on what I’ve seen in the field and in testing. It’s so fast that you can’t see the arrows as they fly towards the target if you blink.

TenPoint used its 27 years of experience and innovation to create a high-tech feature set that places it at the top of the crossbow speed class.

It all starts with the company’s Reverse Draw Technology, which flips the bow end to end, forcing the string to be drawn through the riser by placing cams toward the front of the bow. This results in a longer power stroke and also aids in the recovery process.

During the draw/shot cycles, TenPoint achieves an impressive 404 degrees of cam rotation, storing additional energy to go along with the long string travel. Increased downrange accuracy is another advantage of keeping the string in contact with the nock for longer.

What are the quietest crossbows?

The Death Stalker/Grim Reaper is the quietest one I’ve found. Because it has 100-150 limbs and is made entirely of carbon, it absorbs more vibration than any other crossbow I’ve seen, owned, or shot. The Excal Vortex I owned was the worst.

However, the Scorpyd Silver Vent 125 I have, which shoots 400-grain arrows at 375 yards, is also very quiet. Scorpyd, more than any other company, milks the velocity out of lower-weight limbs. Shots with lower power limbs are quieter.

Which is better Ravin or TenPoint?

Because of the better warranty, I chose Tenpoint. The Tenpoints, on the other hand, are clunkers in comparison to Ravin R26. The only ones you should think about are the 2020 Ten points.

In comparison to Ravin, they have a better cocking system and a much longer string and cable life. It would be an Excalibur if I only had one crossbow.

You are paying for the warranty and customer service with ten points. Ravin offers a five-year warranty (ten points is a lifetime) that is fully transferable, ensuring a high resale value. The ten points are overpriced in my opinion, but the warranty is better than most of the competition.

How far can you shoot with the Ravin R500?

The HexCoil cam system was introduced by Ravin as their new proprietary cam system. Ravin claimed it breaks the 500 feet per second barrier during the ATA virtual show.

Ravin claims that this is the first crossbow to break the 500 FPS barrier, with a Powerstroke of 15 inches and kinetic energy of 222 FT-LBS. We’ll set up a target at 100 yards and shoot a couple of test groups first, as we’re confident Ravin properly pre-tuned the crossbow.

With all R500 packages, Ravin includes 6 Ravin.003 Arrows & Field Points. There are no broadheads included, and finding broadheads with a speed rate of up to/over 500 fps is extremely difficult at the moment.

The Thorn RIFT 2.2″ expandable broadheads are the only set of broadheads that mention handling speeds of up to 500 fps. We’ve ordered a few more sets and are putting them to the test as well!

Are expensive crossbows worth it?

Consider a product you’re familiar with, such as cars, computers, or tools, and apply the same logic to crossbows. Consumers begin to pay as much for prestige or monikers as for actual performance once they reach a certain dollar threshold.

When comparing specific models, there are some real performance gains and some exceptions, but there are a few generalizations that can be drawn about expensive crossbows versus low-cost models.

Premium crossbows, on the whole, incorporate the manufacturer’s most recent innovations. Engineering, manufacturing, licensing, trademarking, and patenting are all part of the development process for most of these technologies. As a result, the company must recoup some of these expenses.

Some features, such as reverse draw technology, which makes crossbows shorter and faster, or Ravin’s Helicoil technology, which makes bows much narrower, have been proven to be beneficial, while others may just be marketing hype.

Is the Ravin a good investment? It’s slightly quieter, more accurate, and easier to carry and uncock in real life. Overall, it’s a far superior crossbow to the Recruit, which is to be expected.

Barnett never intended that model to compete with $2,000 crossbows; rather, it was designed to attract new crossbow hunters. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line Barnett, look no further than their $1,299 Razr Ice.

It will still kill any whitetail for $299 if you do your job. The Ravin, on the other hand, is a bow that will make your friends green with envy.

In the end, your decision is based on your hunting style, financial situation, and whether you insist on being the hunter with the most up-to-date equipment.
